And So It Begins...

Hi, I’m Nim and this is Going Solo! I'm a game design student and aspiring solo developer. Going Solo began as more than just a class project; it’s a test of discipline, endurance, and creative independence. I wanted to see if I could take a small idea — something quiet and personal — and carry it all the way from concept to a finished, playable experience.

The game itself is a minimalist 2D platformer about scavenging, solitude, and survival in a world that’s already moved on. You play a wanderer piecing together the remnants of a forgotten machine — maybe to bring light back to the world, or maybe just to find meaning in what’s left. It’s short, simple, and deliberately small in scope, but it carries a lot of heart.

For me, Going Solo is an experiment in doing everything myself, art, sound, code, design, publishing, to understand what it truly means to work as an independent creator. It’s a way to learn my limits and find my strengths.

Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing updates, reflections, and lessons learned along the way; the good, the bad, and the in-between.

What remains must breathe.
